Full Moon in Taurus on 11/2 @2:13pm

Today the Full Moon occurs at 2:13pm EST in the beautiful and stubborn sign of Taurus.  The Full Moon is a time of completion, it is a time of wholeness.  The Full Moon of November is known as the Beaver Moon in some Native American traditions.  This moon was named for the beaver, as this was the time of year that the beaver began to set traps before the swamps froze, this is when they began to prepare for the winter ahead.

After the moon is full, it begins to wane (get smaller), and I think that this waning period is going to be  time to release the habits and emotions that no longer serve us to carry into the winter/New Year.  This week may be a good week to let things off your chest, to scream when you need to scream and to cry when you want to cry.

Taurus is a sign connected to nature, arts, the physical world and love.  Taurus naturally rules the 2nd house in the astrology chart that is the house of money, self esteem, values, and how we connect to all those things.  There are lessons right now to learn in the physical world, but we must remember that each lesson learned in the physical world clears a path for us in our spiritual world as well.

Full Moon Horoscopes:
Taurus: You may be feeling frustration or as though you have had enough with a certain aspect in your life, let that fuel of frustration beam you into change and creating the physical body, appearance, way of life that YOU want!
Gemini: You may be thinking of ways to align your earning ability with something that you feel is beautiful.  This is a perfect time to begin to plant those seeds.
Cancer: Take time for yourself during this precious time to connect with nature outside of your home.  Through short visits or trips or communication with close friends, you are revived.
Leo: Your home is calling you right now to nurture it and beautify it.  Spend time making your home an oasis of peace and letting that stillness feed your breakthrough.
Virgo: Children have something very special to share with you, whether it is your own child or children you see on your ride to work daily.  Spending time with children is going to ignite and encourage your creativity.
Libra: This is a great time to re-evaluate aspects concerning your health.  If you are tired of living with a certain challenge, think about how you have the power to change that challenge simply through your attitude and choices.
Scorpio: You have Taurus is your house of relationships.  You are planting a seed right now in how you are creating relationships, trust that even if you cannot see the seed, you must put it in the ground, and trust that by watering it, it's growing!
Sagittarius: This is a time that you may realize a co-dependency and your role in it.  This full moon you have the chance to release this co-dependency and start fresh without feeling controlled/obligated to others.
Capricorn: You will find food for breakthrough through spirituality and philosophy and engaging with people who may not be in your comfort circle.  This is a great time to allow yourself to expand and see expansion for yourself.
Aquarius: You have Taurus in your house of profession - your life profession may be calling to you - but not necessarily showing you how to get there or how you are going to get paid for it.  This is a powerful time to have faith and leap into where you have been called.
Pisces: This is a great time for you to ground yourself in your goals.  Setting goals today will allow for them to be planted into your subconscious and materialize with ease.
Aries: Today may be a day of seeming obstacles and tests, know that these obstacles are just your highest self asking for you to reveal and give more of your deepest hidden strengths.  Can you share that strength with the world today?

New Moon in Libra Sun 10.18.09 @ 1:33a EST

Earlier today, I received an email from my friend Grace, it read:

New Moon is in Libra on Sunday, October 18th at 1:33 am but it goes void of course then immediately enters Scorpio at 10:23am.  Scorpio is about death and rebirth, our greatest fears and greatest strength.  It inhabits sex, mystical ecstasy, exalted state of communion and deep passion.

So here is the deal, I am not sure what life has been like with you lately, but if it has been anything like me, these 2 sentences helped to make sense of a lot of the things going on in my life lately.  This week there has been a lot of Libra energy in the cosmos with the Sun, Mercury, Venus and the Moon all in the sign of Libra!  Libra is a sign ruled by Venus, it wants things to be beautiful through balance and justice!

Libra naturally rules the 7th house, which is the house of marriage, partnerships, other people and public relations.  While often it is easy to think of "other people" as being detached from you, part of life is realizing we are simply reflections of one another and "other people" actually are simply ourselves.  What we think of others and how they affect our lives and how we allows others to affect our lives is simply what we are doing.

Libra is an air sign represented as scales for balance.  Libra is a peaceful sign, but it is concerned with justice and fairness.  With many planets in Libra right now, I think there is a lot of balancing going on.  Balancing and rebalancing can cause change to happen, and sometimes we are not ready for the change, but it has to happen in order for the rest of our lives to continue and evolve.  Embrace the change and know that it is all for the best.

New Moon Horoscopes:
Libra:  Something pretty major in your life has been tempting you to change it - maybe something in your personality or appearance.  This is your birth month, allow your self to start anew and take risks, anything is possible with the right outlook.
Scorpio:  Perhaps you are questioning your values and how you earn your income lately and are feeling an itch that something is not right.  You are very perceptive Scorpio, trust your instincts - put to rest what needs to be buried, in order for life to grow.
Sagittarius:  It's important right now to communicate clearly and respond to emails and phone calls.  Important messages are being sent to you with wonderful opportunities.
Capricorn: New home?  Thinking about a move or a new property?  This is a great time to think about re-doing your home or upgrading your home, or at least start looking through some magazines and beginning to envision your new home.
Aquarius: Creative time right now is important for you.  Surround yourself by creativity and beauty, visit museums, concert, let yourself be inspired and see what magic comes out of you.
Pisces:  Everything in moderation dear Pisces...too much work is not good for your health, and too much obsessiveness with any one thing does not allow for it to take its proper and modest place in your life.
Aries: A good time for relationships and partnerships to be reset with healthy and just patterns.  You can start some really beautiful and whole relationships right now.
Taurus: Every good and bad things comes to an end.  Accept the endings of all things in your life that no longer serve you anymore.  With all endings, come a beginning.
Gemini: Take time for yourself from your highest self and come to peace with your surroundings.  A long trip could do you good.
Cancer:  You may be feeling very serious about your profession and reputation, don't let it overcome you or make you feel lacking.  You are doing the best you can.
Leo:  Friends are important to you right now.  Focus on the friendships that nourish you and help you to grow and not the ones that are full of fear and complaining - those are not serving you.
VIrgo:  There may be a lot going on in your mind right now, so much that you may feel scared to step outside of your mind and live and take risks.  Do some volunteer work at a hospital to ground you and bring balance.

Open October...DESIRE

Yesterday I went to a mini workshop/presentation about sexuality and desire. Lately I have been approaching sex with a new sense of sacredness. While in the past I have been approaching sex from a very one-dimensional view (the physical), over the last year I have been dedicating time to explore sex in a wholistic way and understanding the power or sex and the extremely spiritual presence in sex. I will spend more time blogging about these topics in the next week.

For now I wanted to talk about desire, because there is so much to say about desire, and there was so much that was stirred up in me yesterday during this presentation. When I say desire I am not just speaking of physical desires, I mean all desires you have - in your career, in your relationships, in your personal life....EVERYWHERE.

It seems that many of us are keeping are desires a secret. We are secretly experiencing desires but covering them up so much with fear, doubt, pain that we don't even let the desire come out. We never speak about the desire, and we never believe in our desires. This is usually caused by a lack of self confidence and fear (amongst a list of everyone's own personal experiences).

Today I want to challenge you to speak your desires. Just because you work in a hospital doesn't mean you can't have the desire to be a singer, just because you went to law school and work at a firm does not mean you cannot have the desire to live on a farm in Brasil. We have these burning desires usually because spirit is trying to tell us something. LISTEN!

Today, write 5 desires that you have - no matter how "small" or how "big"....Admit to yourself what your desires are! that is the first step. Let yourself acknowledge YOUR desires. And then perhaps commit to a desire or feel bold enough to share a desire with someone.

You are worthy of your desires!

What is Holding You Back?

Yesterday during my yoga practice, I was working on Matsyasana, and my yoga teacher came over to encourage me, and asked "What is holding you back from expressing the full posture?"

Something rang in me. I knew I was able to physically express the full posture, but yet I was hesitant.  I had to ask myself what was holding me back from expressing Matsyasana, I also had to ask, WHAT THE HECK IS HOLDING ME BACK from expressing my fullest life.

I offer this question to you today because perhaps maybe you too need to ask yourself this question and know that the only thing holding you back sometimes is you.  It has nothing to do with anyone else, with society or with the past, but simply with yourself and the thoughts that you think and sometimes box yourself into.

Live outside of your thoughts!  Let nothing hold you back! Be all that you can be!
